Minos Matsoukas is an Assistant Professor of Computational Chemistry at the University of West Attica, Athens, having studied Chemistry, with an MSc and PhD in Medicinal Chemistry. He has had post-doctoral research positions at the Laboratory of Computational Medicine at the Medicine Faculty of the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Structural and Computational Group of the Pharmacy Department at the University of Patras.

Main research interests are in the fields of computational chemistry and computational biology, coupled with ML and AI for the discovery of novel bioactive molecules. At the industry level he’s been involved in several innovative startup and biotech schemes in the pharmaceutical industry field, served as project manager and scientific advisor in such settings. In parallel, he’s been collaborating with the industry in drug discovery programs.

The vision of the group is to be part of the rapid transformation of the drug discovery field, which is already implementing machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies in synergy with big data, towards new therapeutics.
